The Ministry of Emergency Response (COPECO) has issued a “Red Alert” for Atlántida, Colón, Cortés, and Yoro departments due to heavy rainfall caused by Tropical Storm Sara, which has loosened the soil and increased the risk of landslides and flooding. Authorities are urging residents to take precautionary measures, including evacuation if necessary.
A “Yellow Alert” has been issued for Islas de la Bahía, Olancho, Santa Bárbara, Choluteca, and Valle departments. Please follow any instructions from local authorities as required.
All other areas not under “Red” or “Yellow” alerts are under a “Green Alert,” with a general advisory for caution.
