In recent times, Douala has seen an increase in incidents of violence, vandalism, and looting carried out by youth criminal groups known as “Microbes.”
In response, authorities have implemented measures such as restricting the movement of motorcycles, which are a primary means of transport for these groups, during nighttime hours (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
Despite these measures, a serious incident was reported on the night of the 13th around 10:00 PM, where a foreign woman walking home was robbed and fatally stabbed.
As the risk of further incidents involving the Microbes persists, please take the following precautions:
- Avoid walking, both during the day and at night, and prioritize traveling by vehicle.
- Always lock your car doors while driving.
- Refrain from wearing expensive or valuable items.
- In the event of an attack, do not resist and prioritize your safety.
