According to the Guam Office of the National Weather Service, as of 10 a.m. on November 12, Tropical Depression 25W (international name: MAN-YI) is located approximately 300 miles east of Guam. It is expected to pass over the Mariana Islands, including Guam, between the afternoon and night of November 13, bringing heavy winds and rain.
At noon on November 12, the Guam government issued COR3 (the second lowest of the four alert levels), urging residents to prepare for the approaching tropical depression. Reports indicate that COR2 (the second highest alert level) is expected to be issued by 6 p.m. the same day.
Typhoon Mawar in May last year caused prolonged power and water outages, as well as major disruptions such as airport closures. Residents and visitors are advised to take necessary precautions, including stocking up on food and water, preparing cash, filling up vehicle gas tanks, checking generators, and refilling gas supplies. For details, refer to the links below.
Alert levels are as follows:
COR1: Expected to enter storm zone within 12 hours (curfew in effect)
COR2: Expected to enter storm zone within 24 hours (secure windows, stock up on water and food, prepare to evacuate to shelter)
COR3: Expected to enter storm zone within 48 hours (secure gasoline and essential supplies)
COR4: Normal state
