1. The Peruvian government has officially announced the extension of the state of emergency in Virú, Pataz, and Trujillo districts of La Libertad region for 30 days, starting from Friday, October 11, as published in the official gazette.

During the state of emergency, certain constitutional rights, such as the inviolability of residence, freedom of movement, freedom of assembly, and personal freedom, will be restricted in the affected areas. Security forces may conduct searches of belongings and vehicles without a warrant at checkpoints. Those planning to travel or stay in the region should always carry identification when going out.
3. The Japanese government has issued safety advisories for various regions of Peru, including Level 1 (exercise caution), Level 2 (avoid non-essential travel), and Level 3 (avoid travel).
