〇 As noted in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ “Warning Following Iran’s Attack on Israel” (October 2, 2024) and the consular email issued on the same date, tensions in the Middle East have risen again due to Iran’s attack on Israel on October 1st. Related incidents have also occurred in several European countries.

〇 In this context, it is expected that various events will be held around the world to mark the one-year anniversary of Hamas’s attack on Israel. In Sofia, a related ceremony inviting Bulgarian government officials is scheduled to take place at the Central Synagogue on October 7th. There are concerns that this event could be targeted for terrorist attacks.

〇 As previously mentioned, Bulgaria has multiple facilities related to Israel and Judaism, and the Bulgarian government has increased security around these locations. There is a possibility of unexpected incidents, so especially around October 7th, please avoid the areas surrounding these facilities.
