Taiwan: Typhoon Krathon Advisory

Due to Typhoon Krathon, the AIT offices in Taipei and Kaohsiung will be closed on October 2, 2024. All U.S. citizens residing in or visiting Taiwan are urged to monitor local news for the latest safety and weather information. U.S. citizens needing emergency American Citizen Services should call AIT at 02-2162-2000. For medical or fire emergencies, please call 119.

We urge U.S. citizens to monitor the typhoon’s track by listening to the radio, watching television, or monitoring Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau (https://www.cwa.gov.tw/eng/) . International Community Radio Taipei (ICRT) provides regular weather bulletins in English on 100.7 FM in the Taipei and Kaohsiung areas and on 100.1 FM in Taichung.
