• This is not an actual emergency or disaster alert.

【Details】

• On Tuesday, October 1st at 11:00 AM, the “National Early Warning and Notification System (NEWS)” test will be conducted in the following regions:
Sofia, Burgas, Varna, Kardzhali, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Smolyan, Vratsa, Stara Zagora
Partial regions in Vidin, Pernik, and Yambol
A 30-kilometer area surrounding the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant
The National Early Warning and Notification System (NEWS) uses sirens and audio messages transmitted via sound devices installed in various locations to alert people during emergencies.
• Simultaneously, a test of the nationwide “BG Alert” system will also be conducted. Test messages in Bulgarian and English will be sent once to mobile devices within the country that are set to receive them. (Even if the device is set to silent mode, a dedicated sound and vibration will activate upon receiving the message.)
BG Alert is a system that sends warning messages to individual devices (such as mobile phones, tablets, and some smartwatches) via mobile networks when disasters, emergencies, or other situations threatening life, health, and property occur.
