1. October 1st (Tuesday) is “National Day” in China. Various related events are expected to take place, and some areas may see large crowds.
2. In mainland China, excluding Hong Kong and Macau, there will be an extended holiday from October 1st (Tuesday) to October 7th (Monday) for National Day. (During this period, all Japanese embassies and consulates in China, except for this Consulate, will be closed until October 7th. This Consulate will be closed only on October 1st, excluding weekends.)
3. If you are planning to go out during this period, please keep the following in mind:
1. Stay updated on the latest security information and confirm the safety of your destination. Be cautious not to speak loudly in public, and remain vigilant of your surroundings.
2. Pay attention to suspicious individuals or unusual circumstances around you, and ensure safety by traveling in groups, especially when accompanied by children.
3. Avoid approaching gatherings or crowded areas, and refrain from taking photos or posting about such events on personal social media.
4. Carry identification, such as a Hong Kong ID, when going out, in case you are asked for verification by police.
5. Do not approach suspicious or unattended items.
6. If you encounter trouble, promptly seek assistance from the Consulate (phone: 852-2522-1184).
4. If you plan to travel to mainland China during the holiday period, please be particularly cautious of suspicious individuals and your surroundings, and take measures to ensure safety. This is especially important when traveling with children or in groups. Please pay attention to the following points:
• Respect local customs and be mindful of your behavior when interacting with locals.
• Avoid going out alone at night (especially since trouble tends to occur in bars late at night).
• Even during the day, avoid speaking loudly in Japanese, and refrain from drawing attention by causing a scene with other Japanese people.
• Be aware of your surroundings when going out, especially in large gatherings or public squares.
• During holidays such as National Day, public institutions in China will be closed, and if you lose your passport or it is stolen, procedures may take longer than usual. Take extra care to manage your passport.
