On September 15, around 10 PM, a Japanese traveler was a victim of street robbery in Rundu, East Kavango Region. We advise all Japanese nationals and travelers to refrain from moving around at night and unnecessary outings.
1. On September 15, around 10 PM, two Japanese travelers were robbed in Rundu, East Kavango Region. The victims were attacked after stopping at a gas station for a break while traveling by bus. The assailants, a group of about ten, also targeted several other foreign tourists who were on the same bus. The perpetrators were armed with knives and cut the bag straps of the foreign tourists to steal their belongings. Fortunately, the Japanese nationals were not seriously injured and did not lose any valuables, but one sustained a leg injury while fleeing from the attackers.
