Namibia: Burglary at Japanese National’s Home

Details:

  • A burglary occurred at the residence of a Japanese national in Omururu, Erongo Region. The incident took place in the early morning hours when the resident was asleep with the bedroom window open due to the heat.
  • The resident was awakened by noise and noticed a man tampering with the outside of the bedroom window. The intruder fled upon the resident’s loud shout. Upon inspection, it was discovered that a wallet and a mobile phone, which were left on a desk near the window, had been stolen. The thief likely used a hook or similar tool to reach inside from outside the window, as the desk was not accessible from beyond the iron bars of the window. Additionally, barbed wire on the fence was found to be cut the following morning.
