On February 2, 2024, around 4:00 PM, a burglary occurred at a Japanese national’s residence in Swakopmund, Erongo Region. We urge all Japanese residents and travelers to continue practicing stringent security measures and to avoid resisting if confronted by criminals.

1. Incident Summary
On February 2, around 4:00 PM, a burglary occurred at a Japanese national’s residence in Swakopmund. The victim discovered that the handle of the living room window was broken upon returning home. Inside, a suitcase containing a computer and cash had been stolen (the locked suitcase had its lock broken). The victim reported the incident to the police and stayed at a different accommodation that night. The next morning, around 7:00 AM, upon returning home, the victim found that the front door was broken and large items such as a refrigerator, which had been left the previous day, were stolen. The residence experienced two break-ins.
